Valley of Glaciers
Rhododendron forest to the glacial sanctuary of Kyanjin Gompa, framed by Langtang Lirung.
What Makes It Special
The Langtang Valley Trek is a journey defined by dramatic natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. In just a few days of walking, you transition from subtropical riverbanks to soaring glacial valleys.
You begin along the shaded river trails of the Langtang Khola, walking under dense canopies of oak, pine, and blooming rhododendrons. As you ascend higher, the forest gives way to wide alpine meadows where yaks graze against a backdrop of giant Himalayan peaks. You walk alongside stone mani walls, spin prayer wheels in traditional Tamang villages, and experience the warm hospitality of the local mountain communities.
The ultimate destination is Kyanjin Gompa at 3,865 m, a peaceful mountain settlement surrounded by ice falls, glaciers, and jagged mountain walls. From here, a sunrise climb to Tserko Ri (4,984 m) or Kyanjin Ri reveals sweeping, up-close views of the entire Langtang range.
Lush forests to glacial amphitheatres. Ancient monasteries to iconic yak pastures. Cascading waterfalls, snow peaks, and rich Tamang culture. Langtang Valley is a quintessential Himalayan journey.
